Severe oesophagitis = PPI for 8 weeks

Low dose PPI, intermittent PPI or switch to H2 receptor antagonist

Antacids/alginates may provide some symptomatic relief

GORD in pregnancy

Antacids or alginates
Ranitidine if above ineffective
Omeprazole = reserved for severe or complicated GORD

Common in infants
Resolves after 12-19 months
Mild-moderate GORD = thickened feeds or alginates
