Explain GORD to a parent
There’s an immaturity in your child’s food pipe which is quite common in babies // weak sphincter
This causes food to come back up into the mouth
This is normal and nothing to worry about and typically resolves in a year
What are the 3 main common causes of GORD
Overfeeding
Not regular and often
Not eating upright
So how do we typically manage GORD initially?
Conservatively
=> Don’t overfeed 150ml/kg/day
=> Regular and often
=> Eating upright (30 angle)
