rash - crops of highly itchy lesions mostly on head, neck & trunk. crust after 5 days& fall off 1-2 wks later

rare: pneumonia, encephalitis, cerebellar ataxia

fever - calpol
itch - topical calamine lotion,
nails short, smooth cotton fabrics
avoid school until vesicles crusted (5 days from onset)
avoid pregnant mothers, immunocompromised, neonates
