Good to know operational stuff Flashcards
Good to know If either wing tank fuel is…
…above 6,225 lbs
1) Single engine taxi is permissible with left engine only.
2) Unattended APU operations are not permitted.
Reference Fuel distribution (FCTM 2.1.8.2) for further restrictions
Good to know APU Startup Considerations
Avoid electrical system changes (including engine shut downs) during APU start.
(FCTM 2.1.9)
Good to know During initial electrical power up and IRU alignment (indicated by “ATT/HDG ALIGNING DO NOT TAXI” on the ADIs)…
Do not touch any flight controls, switches, or components during this initialization process, and that includes the FA CMS panel in the forward galley
Good to know prior to ALL hydraulic systems being powered…
DO NOT MOVE ANY OF THE FLIGHT CONTROLS
Good to know Oil temperatures and start limits for operations and takeoff
Oil temperature limits:
<-40ºc = No Start
<-18ºc OAT with fog = all engine operations prohibited
≤5ºc = Idle Max
≤20ºc = 30% N1 max
≤50ºc = 50% N1 max
>50ºc = Takeoff power
Good to know Engine cool down time
Below 40% N1 for 3 minutes before shutdown
5 minutes prefered
Good to know Autothrottle if greater than 40kts headwind
If greater than 40 kts headwind, the auto throttle system may not achieve a takeoff N1 value. Manual thrust may be required.
Good to know Airborne wing anti-ice system test limitations
1) Required on the first flight of the day.
2) Temperature must be below 15°C.
3) As long as it is initiated below FL310, and can be allowed to run to completion as long as it is complete prior to FL350.
4) Can be completed on the decent as long as you are below FL310 and 15°C.
Good to know If during preflight GA is showing on top of EICAS
Select DU2 off for 1 minute, then back on.
Good to know Bank and pitch limitations takeoff and touchdown (rotation/flair)
Bank angle 15° or less (nacelle strike), and pitch of 11° (tail strike)
Good to know Fuel mins
3000 Min fuel
2500 Emer fuel
Good to know Weights for climb settings
▼120K = Clmb 2
120K-130K = Clmb 1
▲130K = Clmb
A220-300 = +15K to each
Good to know LOC & GS Capture…
If LOC is not captured, GS will not capture.
Good to know Takeoff below 1600 RVR…
-TO Alternate is required.
-Takeoff is to be performed by the captain
-Must be a static takeoff (come to a complete stop before increasing throttle levers).
Good to know Upset recovery…
Push, Roll, Power, Stabilize
1)Push- Reduce AOA (if ineffective, less than 60° bank will help)
2)Roll- Wings level (only after unloading, and maintain approximately 0.5 G)
3)Power- Access energy state, and add or reduce power as necessary (If ground contact is eminent, increase the rest lovers to MAX)
4)Stabilize- Adjust pitch and power to stabilize, then adjust spoilers and Reconfigure as appropriate.
