Ceftriaxone 500 mg IM once

Ceftriaxone 1 gm IM once
Treatment for gonorrhea of the cervix, urethra, and rectum when chlamydia is not excluded
-Doxycycline
-Azithromycin if the patient is pregnant
Treatment for gonorrhea of the cervix, urethra, and rectum when ceftriaxone is not available
-Gentamicin + azithromycin
-Cefixime
Treatment for gonorrhea of the pharynx when patient weight is less than 150 kg and is chlamydia negative
Ceftriaxone 500 mg IM once
Treatment for gonorrhea of the pharynx when patient weight is more than 150 kg and is chlamydia negative
Ceftriaxone 1 gm IM once
Treatment for gonorrhea of the pharynx when patient is chlamydia positive
-Doxycycline
-Azithromycin if the patient is pregnant
When is test-of-cure recommended for patients with gonorrhea of the pharynx?
7-14 days after initial treatment
