Gonio 2 Flashcards
Van Herick grade based on most posterior structure seen
CB-4. Wide open.
SS-3. Wide open.
TM (both)- 2. Moderately open, possible closure.
Schwalbe’s line- 1. Narrow, occludable.
Cornea- 0. Partially or completely closed.
Clinical indications for gonio
Narrow angle based on van heroic Primary open angle glaucoma Glaucoma suspect Narrow angle glaucoma Do annually if pt has glaucoma
Contraindications for gonio
Recent ocular trauma- may cause more bleeding
Recent ocular surgery- risk of wound leak or suture damage
During angle closure attack- cloudy cornea due to fluid entering. Can’t see angle.
How can you determine where schwalbee’s line is?
Find by running optic section across. Where it splits is where schwalbees line is = edge of K
Clinical indication for corneal gonio
Differentiate between appositional and synechial angle closure.
In appositional, pressure will cause structures to become visible.
4 mirror gonio angles
All 4 mirrors are 64 degrees and all look at angle.
PAS
Peripheral anterior synechia
