Define a High Minimums captain

Any Captain who has not served 100 hours as PIC (not including IOE) in type under Part 121 operations.

What limitations exist for a High Minimums Captains? GOM 6.20
Landing minimums are adjusted by adding to the published approach procedure, 100 feet to the DH/MDA and by adding one half statute mile to the required minimum visibility. Landing minimums at alternate airports are not increased above those minimums applicable to the alternate airports, and lower than standard alternate rules may be applied, but in no case may be less than a 300 foot ceiling and one mile visibility, regardless of the operation. Can apply lower than standard minimums for takeoff; however, the need for a takeoff alternate for the departure airport is predicated on HMC landing minimums.
Can dispatch occur with only one Jepson Airway Manual? Explain. GOM 4.4
One set of Jepps may be carried by each crew member.
In the event that a crew member does not have the appropriate NAV charts for the route of flight, authorization may be granted by SOC to receive a fax copy of the most current charts affecting the route of flight. A report must be submitted to the office of the chief pilot.
Describe Exemption 5487. GOM 4.4
Pilot context Mesa SOC and has identity verified. They set issues a temporary certificate valid for a period of seven days. Pilot has 72 hours to request a fax confirming the certificate from the FAA. Pilot must send a copy of said faxed to the Manager of Crew Qualifications within 24 hours of received. Exemption only valid in 48 contiguous states and District of Columbia.
What is your showtime?
Normal reporting time is 45 minutes prior to first scheduled departure.
What if another crew member is not there within 10 minutes?

What limitations must a FO comply with if he has flown less than 70 hours under FAR 121 in a Mesa Airlines aircraft type?
If the CA is not a qualified check airman, the CA will make all TOs/LDGs in the following situations:
- Special reports
- Prevailing visibility outer below 3/4 mile
- RVR of runway in use below 4000 feet
- RVR in use has snow, slush, water, or similar conditions that may affect performance
- Braking action reported less than good
- Crosswind in excess of 15 kn
- Windshear reported in vicinity
- PIC prerogative
How does the CA & FO maintain current FAR 121 operations? GOM 4.11

No CA or FO may serve in that capacity under F a R1 21 unless they have made at least 3TO and LDG in an improved visual simulator or in type of aircraft within proceeding 90 days (FAR 121.439)
Is it plausible to lose instrument current see under FAR part 121?
No currency requirements for FO’s. CA’s will use PC/PT as meeting currency requirements. Total time duration will be nine months with the lower grades.

Reduced visibility takeoffs, 5000 RVR/1 SM
How is crewmember SARA qualification determined?
Items such as surrounding terrain, obstructions, or complex APP/DEP procedures.
Describe three ways to be qualified for a particular SARA airport?
PIC or SIC has made an entry to that airport as a crew member within preceding 12 calendar months
• PIC qualified by using picture of means (JEPPs)
• Ceiling is at least 1000 feet above the lowest MEA or MOCA a or initial approach altitude, and the visibility is at least 3 miles
What is consolidation?
Acquiring 100 hours of line operating experience within 120 days of completing initial PC. Can be extended to 150 days with coordination. After hundred and 50 days the pilot will have to requalify bike and pleading a PC. IOE experience will be counted towards consolidation times
What are IOE requirements?
Minimum of 25 hours, 4 legs… Must be FP for at least 2 legs.
