Glycolysis steps 1&2&3

A
  • glucose picks up P (from ATP), attaches to #6 to form glucose 6-phosphate
  • # 1 C goes to form fructose 6-phosphate
  • P from ATP attaches to #1 C of 6P to form fructose 1, 6-biphosphate

Fructose 1,6 phosphate splits in half to form 1 G3P+1 G3P (from 3C dihydroxyacetone phosphate)

G3P is oxidized( loses 2H) + phosphorylated (P from cytosol) to form 2 bi-PGA
- 2H combines w/NAD to form 2NADH
