ALL FIBRES: abduct the hip at coxal joint.
POSTERIOR FIBRES : abduct, extend, and laterally rotate the hip at coxal joint.
Posteriorly, tilt and depress same side of pelvis at hip joint.
ANTERIOR FIBERS: abduct, flex, and medially rotates the hip at coxal joint.
Anteriorly, tilt and depress pelvis at hip joint.
