Precautions
Glucagon
Not effective if patient does not have any stored Glycogen
Dose
Glucagon
Adult:
Hypoglycemia: 1.0 mg (IM), may be repeated in 10 mins
Ca & Beta blocker: OD: 3-10 mg (SIVP) followed by a 3-10 mg/hr infusion
Pedi:
Hypoglycemia: 0.03 - 0.1 mg/kg (IM/IO/SQ/SIVP), may be repeated in 20 mins
Ca & Beta blocker: 0.05 mg/kg (IV/IO) over 3-5 mins, followed by a 0.05 - 0.10 mg/kg/h infusion as necessary
