  • surrounds embryo throughout most of first trimester
  • thought to be a liquid extension of the placents that acts as a reservoir of nutrients for the embryo

what is lidocaine with epinephrine?

A
  • lidocaine is a local anesthetic and epinepherine is a hormone (adrenaline)
  • addition of epinephrine to idocaine prolongs suration of anesthesia
  • lasts 3 hrs
  • usually 1% lidocaine
  • epinepherine is one of the most widely used vasoconstrictor agents
