There are two parts medial and lateral part. Both of them arises from the vestibuli nuclei. The lateral vestibulspinal tract extends throughout the spinal cord by the static vestibule system. Its role is to adjust posture in limbs and trunks by activating extensor muscles.

Medial extends only to neck region to control head posistion with inputs from semicircular canals
