what is an nhs pathways assessment?
- asssessing a persons symptoms
- arranging an appropriate clinical response in a suitable timeframe to meet needs.
What is module 0 ?
immediately life threatening problems
what is module 1?
Assesses a wide range of symptoms
What is module 2?
The part used by clinicians
What is trauma?
Injury within the last 7 days
What is non -trauma?
A problem due to illness rather than injury
What is a pathway?
A flow chart used to assess a patients problem
What is a question?
Presented by the system to be anwsered by the caller
What is question rationale?
Brief explanation of why a question is being asked
What is an anwser stem?
Division of each question to be anwsered
What is supporting information?
Explanation of what is meant by each anwser stem
What is the body map ?
Division between module 0 and 1 and where the user selects a symptom based pathway
What are the body map areas ?
Areas of the body to be clicked to access pathways
What are key points?
Instructions for when/when not to use the pathways
What is a call summary?
Contains details of questions which have a significant anwser
What is a call report?
Contains details of all questions and advice given
What is a disposition?
The clinical outcome of the call once system has collected sufficient information
what are disposition instructions?
Information to help caller follow the disposition safely
What is DOS?
directory of services that can facilitate local delivery of the recommended disposition
What is interim care advice ?
advice to help the caller manage the problem until further assessment or care is received
What is standard care advice?
Advice to help the patient manage the problem themselves when further assessment and care is not required
What is early exit?
Function within the pathways system when it is impossible or inappropriate to triage
What does change anwser mean?
Used to go back to a specific anwser to change it
What does restart triage mean?
Used to delete all triage anwsers and start again from the beginning or to change from 1st to 3rd party
What does specify mean?
Presented when additional information is required
What does worsening advice mean?
Instructions about what to do if problem worsens
What does ‘speak to’ mean?
Telephone consultation
What does ‘to contact’ mean?
Face to face consultation
What age is neonate?
Up to one hour old
What age is infant?
1 hour - 12 months
What age is toddler?
1-5 years
What age is child?
5-16 years
What year is adult?
16 years and over
What is 1st party?
when a person is calling about themselves
What is 3rd party ?
When a person is calling on behalf of someone else
