Globalization
A historical process involving a fundamental shift or transformation in the spatial scale of human social organization that links distant communities and expands the reach of power relations across regions and continents
Group of 20 G20
An assembly of gov. and leaders from twenty of the world’s largest economies.
Multinational cooperation or enterprise
A buisness or firm with administartion, production, distribution and marketing located in countries around the world. Such a buisness moves money, goods,services and technology around the world depending on where the firm can make the most profit.
Nation
A community of people who share a common sense of identity, which may be derieved from language, culture or ethnicity. This community may be a minority within a single country or live in more than one country.
State
A legal territorial entity composed of a stable population and a government, it possesses a monopoly over the legitimate use of force, its sovereignty is recocognized by other states in the int system.
Theory
A proposed explanation of an event or behaviour of an actor in the real world. Defintions range from “an unproven assumption” to “a working hypothesis that proposes an explanation for an action or behaviour.” In IR we have intuitive, empirical and normative theories.
Kantian tradition
A revolutionary tradition in ir theory named for Kant that emphasizes human interests over state interests.
