Q

Emergency Descent

A

PF: (power levers idle), Props full forward
PNF: Props full forward, set 1700 RPM
(Airspeed + 180 knots) = reduce nose pitch 5 degrees
(Airspeed = 180 knots) = reduce nose pitch 15 degrees
(Airspeed <180 knots) = reduce nose pitch 20 degrees
PF: (Pitch 15 degrees nose down will hold 180 knots)
PF: (Airspeed slows to 188 knots) Flaps 17
PNF: Verified flaps 17 - flaps 17 selected, set and indicating 17
PF: (airspeed slows to 180 knots) Gear Down

RECOVERY:
- 1,000 feet from level off altitude
Increase torque to 1,200 lbs, and reduce nose down pitch by half
- 500 feet from level off altitude
PF: Gear up, flaps up, set torque 1700 lbs
- Approaching level off altitude
PF will adjust pitch and power as necessary to stabilize in level flight at 180 knots
- If cruise is continued at level off altitude
PF: Props 1550, cruise checklist
If landing is imminent then props may remain full forward

17
Q

Unusual Attitude Recovery

A

Nose Low

  • reduce power
  • level wings
  • pitch up
Nose High (simultaneously)
   -
18
Q

One-Engine inoperative approach

A
  • Double the torque setting required for normal approach
  • Gear down, landing checks, props forward
    • Non-precision
      At FAF
    • Precision
