Boorman et al, Vet Surg, 2019 looked at the development of POR and survival after SI sx in geriatric vs non-geriatric horses. What were the findings?

Age was NOT associated with development of POR, high volume POR or STD.
POR was associated with increased PCV and with NG reflux at admission.
High vol POR was associated with an increasing glycaemia at admission, NG reflux at admission and SI resection.
Increasing surgical time and high volume POR were associated with non-survival.
