G became politically unstable bc……

A

it was close to defeat and a flu epidemic killed many already weak from a poor diet

army general Ludendorff said that G couldn’t win and advised the K to make G more democratic so the winning allies would treat them more fairly. October

K transferred some of his powers to the R and allowed political parties to form a new government. G were still not satisfied more demonstration followed.

on oct 28 1918……..

K mutinied and the mutiny spread

soldiers sent to deal with protesters joined the sailors and workers

in just 6 days soldiers’ and workers’ council was governing the towns/cities

K realised he’d lost control, army generals refused to help.
