Quality structure of wines of Germany

A

1- Deutscher wein: wines made of grapes grown and bottled in Germany
Min 40-50 degrees Ochsele at harvest

2- Landwein( PGI) : must be produced from grapes from 1 of the 26 Landweingebit which must appear on label; Trocken max 4g/L RS;Halbtrocken max 12g/L RS

3- Qualitätswein: must come from one of the 13 Anbaugebiet; PDO ; strict regulation sugar level at harvest,taste test and chimical analysis; min 7%abv;
Chaptalization, Süssreserve allowed

4- Prädikatswein: superior quality; degrees of ripeness and sugar content of grapes; min must weight (Ochsele);
Limit of grape variety allowed per Anbaugebiet
