Bathing, Continence, Dressing, Feeding, Tolieting, Transferring/ mobility
Katz index of ADL?
(same as ADL list) out of 3, total possible 18 points
Instrumental ADL’s?
Use the telephone, gets to places out of walking distance, goes shopping for groceries, prepares own meals, does own housework, does own handyman work, does own laundry, takes own meds, manages own money
Lawton IADL scale?
(same as instrumental ADL list) out of 3 points, total 27 points
Screening exams for cognitive function?
Mini-cog, SLUMS test, Folstein Mini/Mental Status Exam, Clock test
Mini-cog?
Clock drawing test (CDT), uncued 3 item recall test
3 min long, uninfluenced by level of education or language variations
Mini-cog Scoring?
1 point for each recalled word after the CDT
0: positive screen for dementia
1/2 w/ abnormal CDT: pos dementia
1/2 w/ normal CDT: neg screen for dementia
3: neg screen
SLUMS?
St. Louis University Mental Status Examination
Alt test for MMSE, greater diagnostic value of early ALzheimer’s disease than the MMSE
A score below a 19 on the MMSE is indicative of what?
Impaired, not dementia
Clock Completion test scoring?
1 pt for Quadrant 1, 1 pt for Quad 2, 1 pt for Quad 3, 4 pts for Quad 4
