Geomorphology Flashcards
1
Q
Five Principal of Geomorphology
A
- an equilibrium exists between landforms and processes “steady state”
- Equilibrium or the balance of landforms is created through the interaction of DRIVING forces and RESISTING forces
- A Change to driving or resisting forces will stress system such that it crosses a threshold
- Processes are linked such that one processes may effect another
- Geomorphic Processes occur over a variety of time scales
2
Q
Driving Forces(at the earth surface-Exogethic)
A
Climate-Exogenic
Gravity-Endogenic
Internal Heat-Radioactive Decay
3
Q
Resisting Forces
A
Lithology-Hard Rocks Igneous and Soft Limestone
Surface-Organization
