Properties of Squares
For any fixed diagonal , as for any fixed perimeter, the rectangle with the greatest area is a square. The rectangle closest to a square will have the greater area.
Properties of a triangle
The sum of any two side lengths will always be greater than the third side length. This is because the shortest distance between any two points is a straight line. The third side will also always be greater than the difference of the other two side lengths.
