A

if the aeroplane is directly above the area to be photographed, it is a vertical aerial photograph. If the image is taken at an angle, it is an oblique aerial photograph

  • on an oblique, you can see the sides of buildings, trees, mountains and the sky
  • on a vertical, you can only see the tops of features, e.g. buildings
