A

The ratio scale looks like a ratio with two numbers. The number on the left stands for 1cm and the number on the right stands for the actual distance. For example, 1 : 25000.

Q

What are the different settlement patterns?

A

Linear settlements are where the buildings are constructed in a line, usually built along a road or river.

Nucleated settlements are when buildings are clustered together, often around a central feature.

Dispersed settlements are when buildings are scattered everywhere over a wide area. They are usually the homes of farmers, and the land around the houses are used for farming.
