Cataracts
A series of 6 river cataracts which interrupt the northward flow of the Nile before it reaches Egypt. They were created by extensive bends of hard metamorphic rock which river does not cut through easily. The northernmost Cataract (First Cataract) marks the southernmost frontier of Egypt.

Season during which the Nile overflowed its banks in Egypt and deposit alluvia mud on fields
