Carrier Screeding
Check if parents are carriers for a disease
Usually done when have a bad family medical history
PCR and Gel Electrophoresis with Restriction Analysis
Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis / In Vitro fertilization
Eggs are extracted from the mother
Fertilized in a tube
Embryonic biopsy of single cells
Lyse, dye, and karyotype to detect chromosomal abnormalities
PCR + gel electrophoresis with restriction analysis to determine the genotype (affected by a disease, carrier, or not affected)
Transfer a healthy embryo back to the mother

Take foot blood sample
Test for rare, serious, unseen (internal bodily disorders), but treatable disorders
