Why don’t we look exactly like our parents?
A
Because we get half of our chromosomes from the dad and half from the mum so therefore they are combined to make you!

why are sex cells different from our body cells?
A
Because when the egg is not fertilised the sperm and egg have 23 SINGLE chromosomes, not for a total of 46. But when intercourse takes place and the egg is fertilised then they combine to have 23 PAIRS of chromosomes.
