Aiming Points
Attack the Defender on the proper part of the body. With the proper hands or surface.
Demeanor
Feet just outside your shoulders, weight on the inseam of your feet, whole foot in the ground. Knees bent, back flat, hands in. Choppy steps, where your feet do not come together. We need to learn to sprint from this position.
Knee Bend
Knees are bent in order to maintain an athletic position. We keep our knees bent to maintain pad level and keep our hips in a loaded position.
Exaggerate your Technique
Reminder to practice perfect technique. We will be
technicians.
Elbows in, Thumbs Up
We will hold “legally”, to be able to do this correctly we
need to initiate punch with our blows in, and our thumbs up.
Surface
When the hands fail, we need to make sure we engage to the proper leverage point, with our head in the hole, and driving the defender with the surface from our
shoulder to our elbow.
