Please discuss why it is important for the veterinary technician to asses images and retake images of less than ideal quality.
The owner is paying lots of money for these images so these must be images we can use. Images that are of good quality and properly assessed can be used for diagnosis. If the image is poor and cannot be fixed by adjusting contrast (etc) it should be retaken because it could create a misdiagnosis or possibly not see what’s wrong.
When proper techniques & such are used, there will be less need for retakes!
Please list two things a veterinary technician should do prior to placing the animal on the x-ray table.
- Get equipment needed out and ready to use (sandbags, foam, tape)
- Put on PPE
