General Questions Flashcards
ADS-B Out:
Allows an aircraft to broadcast to other aircraft with ADS-B In & to ATC. It delivers:
- Horizontal position
- Horizontal position quality indicators (pending accident)
- Aircraft baro altitude
- Aircraft Ident
- ICAO 24-digit address
- Version number
- Emergency status
- Special position indicator (SPI)
ADS-B In:
Requires:
- Reciever
- Processing system
- Cockpit Display of Traffic Information (CDTI)
Interprets ADS-B Out and displays it, along with weather information (only advisory)
MORE RESTRICTIVE.
How many drains are on the PC-12?
6 total.
Explain the PC-12 generally.
Pc-12 is certified in the normal category
Minimum OAT is -55, maximum +50
Two service bays (wet and dry): fuel & oil left, ECS right
Cockpit visibility is provided by a two-piece windshield, 2 side windows and a direct vision window on the captain side that can be opened
4 windows on the left, 5 on the right
Describe the ignition system.
Ignition runs off VDC from the BATTERY BUS through the IGNITION CB.
With ignition set to AUTO, igniters automatically some on when the ITT falls below 500 ITT when Ng is over 10%
Describe the engine oil system.
Has a capacity of 13.6 L or 3.6 GAL
Oil tank formed by the rear of the compressor inlet and in front of the accessory gearbox
OIL CAWS illuminates when level is below minimum, while on ground, electrical system on, engine OFF
During engine operation, tank pressurization maintains a pressure of 6.5 PSI
Oil pump is driven by the accessory gearbox
Equipped with a CHIP detector, will illuminate CAWS of metal is detected
Describe engine controls with the PCL.
As PCL is moved forward, power and propeller pitch is increased
Minimum pitch of 6 degrees in flight
Primary governor maintains 1700 RPM
Describe engine controls regarding the MOR.
Initial dead band of 17 degrees
Functions to control engine power in the event of an FCU failure
Manually controls the FCU by compressing the Py bellows
Starter must be engaged when Ng drops below 50% Ng
Max TRQ is 30 TRQ
Describe the propeller system.
Pitch change is operated hydraulically via the primary governor
Primary low pitch: 19 degrees
Min in flight pitch: 6 degrees
Max reverse pitch: 17.5 degrees
Feathered pitch: 79.6 degrees
