Q

に and へ

A

The Japanese particles に (ni) and へ (e) can be used to indicate destination or direction.

They are translated as “to” in English.

When used in this way, に (ni) and へ (e) are interchangeable.

Ex1: 学校に行きます。/ 学校へ行きます。
“Gakkou ni ikimasu.” / “Gakkou e ikimasu.”
I go to school.

Ex2: うちに帰ります。 / うちへ帰ります。
“Uchi ni kaerimasu.” / “Uchi e kaerimasu.”
I’m going (to) home.
