Describe the 5 types of sensory information
A
Visual - External, seeing what is happening
Auditory - External, hearing shouts from the coach, players or crowd
Touch - Internal, feeling of equipment on skin
Balance - Internal, equilibrium, are you stable
Kinaesthetic - Internal, internal muscle feeling that gives information about whether movement felt correct

Describe proprioception
A
- The sense through which we perceive the position and movement of the body
- Includes sense of balance and kinaesthesis
- Senses that depend on the notion of force/touch

Describe perception and its stages
A
- A method of recognising a stimulus by detecting it, then comparing it to memory stores
1. Detection of stimuli - cues are recieved
2. Comparison to memory stores
3. Recognition of stimuli (response) - an understanding of what response is required based on those stored memories
