General facts and figures Flashcards
VNAV Take off.
Which modes go through the FMA
TO/GA pushed: N1 - - TO/GA 84kts THR HLD - - TO/GA 50'RA THR HLD - LNAV - TO/GA 400'RA THR HLD - LNAV - VNAV SPD 800' ARM - LNAV -VNAV SPD CMD
FMC climb mode
ATC expedite climb command,
what action required
Set max rate on CLB page
or max angle for obstacle/waypoint altitude constraints
When is VNAV PTH shown?
AFDS maintains FMC altitude or descent path with pitch commands.
speed controlled by pilot/ATT
When is VNAV SPD shown?
AFDS maintains the TGT SPD shown on the ASI in speed intervention or on the CDU CLB/DES page.
Speed commanded by pitch
When is VNAV ALT shown?
Always shown when a conflict occurs between VNAV profile and the MCP ALT and airplane levels at the MCP ALT.
50NM => T/D ALT INT
descent initiated with consequent level off before second T/D
CRZ DES mode on DES page.
MCP ALT will become the new CRZ ALT.
New T/D is calculated
50NM
DES page title will change from DES to ALT CRZ DES inside of 50NM to T/D.
Late descent
1) If ATC doesn’t clear for descent,
2) open speed intervene reduce speed to conserve energy.
3) Once cleared, higher speed and or speed brakes required to recapture path.
OR;
start fast descent and
4) keep high speed by setting higher TGT speed in box. Path will be recalculated
What actions must be taken if aircraft deviates from active PTH?
VNAV PTH will revert to VNAV SPD.
Monitor and call this.
take action to recapture the PTH
Descent planning at or below
1) enter AT or BELOW constraints in the FMC LEGS page
2) connect the shortcutted WYP and DO NOT EXEC
3) Let FMC recompute lower altitude at a given point and memorize it
4) ERASE shortcut
5) enter altitude constriction at the point in existing route at XXXXB and execute.
