If emergency lights do not illuminate automatically?
Nearest CA must activate evacuation signal system.
If doors do not open automatically?
Brace self with the inboard assist handle. Push door open with steady pressure.
“Exit blocked- Go that way”
If door does not open?
Block exits
Redirect evacuation towards usable exits.
“Exit blocked- go that way”
If slide does not deploy
Block door initially.
Push slide/ slide pack out of the doorway (not applicable to over-wing exits with slides.)
Redirect evacuation
“Exit blocked- go that way”
If outside conditions are unsafe?
Block exits
“Exit blocked go that way!”
If slide is punctured/deflated (terrain)
Block exits.
Redirect.
Use as apron slide
“Exit here- get out”
If the slide is dangling/ not touching the ground
Block exit.
Redirect exits.
“Exit Blocked- go that way”
Of passengers are piling at the bottom of the slide?
Temporarily halt evacuation.
“Exit blocked- go that way”
If passengers are waiting in line/ cramming at an exit?
Call attention to other usable exits.
“EXIT BLOCKED- GO THAT WAY”
If passenger stops at the door, hesitate or refuses to jump or board the raft.
Immediately assist passenger out of the aircraft.
Have someone buckle the passengers knees, or place one hand on passenger’s shoulder, another in the small of his back and simultaneously push downward and outward.
Post evacuation duties
