rash
shingles/herpes zoster
classic symptoms of pericardial inflammation
sharp chest pain - increases with deep breathing coughing sneezing may be worse with lying supine
pericardial effusion
tachycardia and tachypnea
pericarditis common with
rheumatic diseases
especially lupus erythematosus
Any young athlete with chest pain must be checked for
HC
hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
rare but devastating
MC cause of heart related death in athletes under 35
Obstructive HC
Obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
Harsh systolic murmur that increases with standing upright and decreases with squatting
Obstructive HC

typical herpes zoster (shingles) prsentation
unexplained pain along the dermatome distribution BEFORE rash
