Glycemic index
Low = Slowly digested, slowly absorbed, slowly metabolized, slower rise in blood glucose
Glycemic load
Measures quality (GI) and quantity (grams per serving) of carbohydrate in a meal
Multiply GI by amount carbohydrate served then divide by 100
Infant 0-3 months
Liquids only
Breastmilk; infant formula with iron

Case Control Study
Patients with specific condition are compared to patients who do not have that condition
Cohort Study
Identify patients already taking a particular treatment, follow them over time, then compare their outcomes with a similar group that has not been affected by the treatment
(More observational, less controlled)
Cross Sectional Study
Describe relationship between diseases and other factors at one point in time in a defined population
Correlational Study
