A
- often evident by age 2 to 4
- often socially isolated
- subject to bullying
- by adolescence 75% no longer meet criteria
- increases family problems
- increases risk or suicide
- increases risk of substance disorder

A
•biological perspective -sex hormones during prenatal period •learning perspective -no male role model -parents who wanted a child of other gender -parents who encouraged it.
