freuds psychodynamic approach argued boys and girls experience different conflicts in psychosexual development.girls do not suffer with oedipus complex and therefore do not identify strongly with their mothers.it was then argues this had an impact on development as girls developed weaker superegos emphasising differences with males and females.

beta bias theory ignores or minimises sex differences which can result from andocentricsm

asch study into conformity involved a sample of only male participants. it was assumed that from the results females would respond the same way as males in conformity. more recent applications have showed gender differences in conformity rates-therefore beta bias
