woman treated neg when deviate from feminity (sexual promiscuity), seen as double deviant for breaking norms of society and woman, leading to more severe punishments

woman have exppressive role in house,males reject feminine qualities like emotion/tenderness, boys engage in masculinity such as aggression and risk taking

as woman become more liberated and less patriachal, crimes become more serious and frequent, freedom from trad roles, acceptance into more masculine roles`
men-prove theyre in control
they want to prove they can control woman, explains why dv happens across all class groups, can happen in public via harrassment on the street
labelling-men
police see men as potential offenders, label behaviour as criminal, more opportunity to commit crime, less to loose in terms of repuatation `
thrill seeking
sheer excitement and pleasure of committing crime, eg robbery is undertaken for chaos thrill and danger, football hooligans and drug use
