The diversity of clients (based on age, ethnicity, sexual orientation, ability, socioeconomic status, etc.) means the context of their issues can have varied impacts on the application of the chosen theory
Why is it important to be competent of research and evidence based practices?
Research can inform the treatment for clients/families and helps us gauge the effectiveness of the treatment and client progress
Why is it important to be knowledgeable of the laws and ethics in our field?
Laws and ethics help protect the therapists and clients.
Why is important for the person-of-the-therapist to be competent?
Helps me build relationships with clients. In order for me to show my honesty, integrity, and diligence.
