Gear & Brakes Flashcards
What conditions will sound the aural horn followed by 3 unsafe lights?
Landing gear not down and locked
Altitude less than 16,300’
Airspeed is below 170KIAS
At least one thrust lever is retarded below 60% N1
When will you get an aural horn that cannot be silenced?
Gear not down and locked with flaps past 25°
What conditions must be present for the nose steering to operate?
Nose gear must be down and locked
What is the brains of nose wheel steering operations?
AC Power
What type of power does the nose wheel steering use for the actuator?
28VDC
What conditions would disengage the nose wheel steering?
Loss of two wheel speed signals
Loss of pedal force signal
Ground speed greater than 90kts
How many solenoids are part of the gear system?
Two solenoids
1 gear selector valve
1 door selector valve
How many actuators per gear?
2 actuators per gear
How many up latches?
3 up latches
How many alternate types of gear extensions are there? What are they?
Blowdown
Two air bottles charged to 1800-3000psi
Free fall
Uses gravity
If DC1 is lost how will you get the gear down?
The gear will have to be extended using an alternate method unless power is available via EMER BUS
What is the purpose of the hydraulic shunt?
To re route any regained hydraulic pressure, also prevents pressure from increasing.
Why should you return the free fall lever to the up position after deployment?
To prevent the shunt from releasing any hydraulic pressure that may have been regained.
Also, if the lever is left in the down position, brake air could be depleted if a leak exists in the free fall system.
What is the limit for take off without anti skid?
18,500
Antis-kid is unavailable below how many kts?
10 kts
