Anti-Ice Flashcards
During NAC HT ground checks what does a momentary Amber NAC HT indicate?
This is a Disagreement light.
Either 6psi+valve open
Or
Pressure bleeds off+ valve closed
What are the NAC HT Limits on the ground?
Without engine running: 5 seconds
Engine on: >15°C=30 seconds
Do not use >65%N1 except for take off
In the event of an electrical failure what will happen to NAC HT
NAC HT and Stator heat fail ON
Windshield Heat comes from where?
LP manifold Bleed air
How long does WS HT take to fully open?
Takes 15 seconds for valve to fully open and fully close
Explain WS HT Over heat conditions.
What are the high and low limits on the ground and in the air?
There are low limit (250°F ground) and high limit (347°F airborne) thermoswitches installed.
WING HT comes from where?
LP manifold (HP as back up)
What are the underheat/overheat conditions that would bring on the WING HT annunciation with STAB HT switch on
<58°F Underheat
>215°F Overheat
What is the function of the HP solenoid in regard to STAB HT?
With temp sensors below 600°F, electrical power is applied which opens the HP solenoid allowing HP air to help maintain wing heat in normal range during reduced engine rpm operations.
During ground ops of the STAB HT (Batt charging bus) on the ground (squat switch) what is the solid light indicate as opposed to flashing?
If solid light on the ground this indicates good self test and normal ops
If flashing on the ground this indicates a failure of the self test.
STAB HT steady light on in the air, what does this indicate?
What if its flashing in the air?
Either a failure or malfunction, check amps for indication
If flashing this means the Parting Element is gone.
With WSHLD DEFOG in operation what is an under temp and what is an over temp?
<85°F equals an under temp
> 150°F equals an over temp
What temp does WSHLD DEFOG in normal keep? What about in low?
110°F in normal
95°F in low
WSLD DEFOG power comes from where?
Electrical power is supplied by two L WSHLD circuit breakers (one DC and one AC) on the pilot side
Also two R WSHLD circuit breakers (one DC and one AC) on the copilot side
Windshield alcohol is available to the pilot side only, how many Gallons and how long is ops available? When would you get a ALC LOW caution light?
2.35Gallons
45min of ops Captain side only
ALC LOW= 10% low triggered float switch
