What is the WARNING associated with cold weather?
Section II
During cold weather operations (less than 10 C) the GAU-2 may not self clear. Ensure weapon is pointed in a safe direction at all times and be aware that rotation of the barrels may be required to prevent injury to personnel.

What is the CAUTION associated with removing parts from the GAU-2?
Section II
The GAU-2 pintle head ball-lock pin keeps the GAU-2 secured to the gun mount and shall not be removed in flight. Removing the pintle head ball-lock pin may allow the GAU-2 to fall off the aircraft.

What is the WARNING associated with gun jams after firing a long burst?
Section IV
If gun jams after firing a long burst (800 rounds or more) or many short bursts in quick succession, the heat of the gun may cause a cook-off of rounds in the gun. When jams occur under these conditions, immediate action should be taken to clear the gun by rotating the barrel cluster in the firing direction, using a safing bar. If the gun cannot be cleared immediatly, keep the gun pointed in a safe direction so that it may cool. Wait approximately 5 minutes or until the gun is cool, before removing the top cover/safing blade assembly. Extreme care should be exercised when removing the top cover/safing blade assembly as the gun may fire.

What is the WARNING associated with EMGS elevation and azimuth and FFF?
Section IV
EMGS elevation and azimuth locking devices shall be locked in the fixed forward position prior to pilot operation of the weapons.

What is the NOTE associated with the LH GUN BATT/RH GUN BATT circuit breaker?
Section IV
The circuit breaker may pop when attempting to fire a jammed weapon due to an inrush of current to the firing solenoid. Prior to resetting the circuit breaker, the circuit breaker must be allowed to cool down for approximately 2 minutes. If not allowed to cool down for the full 2 minutes, the GUN BATT circuit breaker may not be reset.

What is the WARNING associated with clearing the gun chambers?
Section IV
Clearing gun chambers will be performed unaided (without NVGs) with eye protection in place and an adequate light source used to verify the gun and mount are cleared of ammunition.

What is the WARNING associated with unlocking the mount to aid in clearing?
Section IV
Unlocking the mount to aid in clearing a potentially armed gun could result in crewmembers or the aircraft entering the weapon field of fire.

What is the WARNING associated with before performing downloading?
Section IV
Before performing downloading, the ammunition chute will be disconnected, the gun will be cleared and the safing bar will be installed. If used, the safing blade will be open.

What is the WARNING associated with the ammunition can lid?
Section II
Use caution when opening the ammunition can lid in flight, as it is possible for the wind to catch the lid and cause injury to personnel and damage to equipment.

What is the WARNING associated with the associated triggers?
Section IV
The system should only be armed jprior to firing the weapons. Regardless of the position of the weapons, all the associated triggers are active when the left-hand/right-hand CGCP battery switches are set to ON, the TGSCP master arm switch is in the ARM position, the TGSCP mode switch is in the ALL position for either left or right station mode select switches, and either the GAU-2 GCU gun power switch is in the ON position. Cyclic firing control is not active while the CGCP arm override switch is in the ARM OVRD position.

What is the WARNING associated with an armed and/or malfunctioning weapon?
Section IV
Armed and/or malfunctioning weapons will be kept pointed in a safe direction at all times to preclude fratricide, collateral damage, and violation of range restrictions.

What is the WARNING associated with eye protection?
Section IV
Failure to use eye protection can cause serious injury. Crewmembers operating guns will wear eye protection during all weapons firing missions. Eye protection will consist of authorized flying glasses, helmet visor, or any shatter-proof eye protection. NVGs are not authorized eye protection.

What is the WARNING associated with egress?
Section IV
Emergency egress throught hte cockpit doors when all weapons are locked in elevation and in the forward position may require jettison of the cockpit doors.

What is the WARNING associated with cabin egress?
Section IV
Emergency egress using the cabin windows is hindered with weapons installed.

What is the WARNING associated with flying at low G?
Section IV
Although mechanical stops are provided, when maneuvering at low G, it is possible to fire the weapons into the main rotor blades.
