Afman11 60Wv3 Flashcards
Different kinds of BLIND
Anticipated
Unanticipated
BLIND procedures where other flight member is VISUAL
Acknowledge with VISUAL
Information position call
BLIND WITH SA Procedures
Flight Lead directs “CONTINUE” with heading
BLIND procedures where flight acknowledged BLIND
FL immediately take action to ensure separation between flight members/elements.
Try to ensure separate using non visual means
If that can’t be accomplished ^ FL directs altitude separation of at least 200’ and specify AGL or MSL
BLIND procedures where the call IS NOT acknowledged
Flight member/element initiating the call will maneuver away from last know position of other flight member.
If unable to ensure aircraft separation by non-visual means
Alter altitude
Difference between blind and lost wingman
Blind= VMC
Lost Wingman = IMC
Non-Mountainous Lost Wingman
Lead: maintains base heading, airspeed, and climb to MSA
-2: left turn by 20 degrees, MSA + 300
How long is Non-Mountainous Lost Wingman procedures held?
Actions following time?
When does the timing start?
30 seconds
After time, return to base heading
Once altitude is reached
1 rule of Lost Wingman??
Do not go IMC if VMC can be maintained. If a lost wingman call is made within the formation and visual is maintained in the preceding aircraft, maintain visual and formation position.
VMC remains VMC.
