A
  • Prolonged Bloody Diorrhoea
  • Caused by entamoeba histolytica
  • Incubation = >7days
  • Treatment is metronidazole

Campylobacter

A
  • Most common cause
  • Gram +ve bacillus
  • Chicken, poultry and dairy products.
  • Flu prodrome
  • Crampy abdominal pain, fever, diorrhoea, could be bloody
  • 48-72 hours
  • Treatment is ciprofloxacin
  • Treatment if severe is erythromycin
