What is Gastritis?
Conditions in which there is histologic evidence of damage inflammation of the epithelial or endothelial of the stomach
Gastropathy is a condition in twhich there is epithelial or endothelial damage without histologic evidence of inflammation
What are the three categories of gastritis?
Erosive and hemmorhagic
Nonerosive and nonspecific
specific
Go over Erosive and hemorrhagic gastritis?
Typically diagnosted at endoscopy, often being performed because o f dyspepsia or upper gastroitestinal bleeding
most commonly seen in alcholics, critically illl patients and patients taking NSAIDS
often symptomatic
may cause hematemesis, unsually nospecific bleeding
What are non erosive non specific gastritis?
h pylori
pernicious anemia
eosinophilic gastritis
