Gastric Vasculature - Exam 2 Flashcards
portal triad
hepatic artery proper
hepatic portal vein
bile duct
celiac trunk
branch off aorta, 3 branches (splenic artery, common hepatic artery, left gastric artery)
splenic artery
largest branch of celiac trunk, tortuous to spleen
common hepatic artery
comes off celiac trunk, becomes hepatic artery proper and enters liver through portal triad
right and left gastric artery
right gastric artery
branches off hepatic artery proper and anastomoses with left gastric artery ay lesser curvature of stomach
left gastric artery
smallest branch of celiac trunk, serves lesser curvature of stomach
anastomoses with right gastric artery (branch of hepatic artery proper)
superior mesenteric artery
branches from aorta, serves SI and portions of LI (ascending and part of transverse)
inferior mesenteric artery
branches from aorta, serves transverse and descending portions of LI and rectum
superior mesenteric vein
receives blood from most of digestive tract and splenic vein, becomes hepatic portal vein after merging with splenic vein
inferior mesenteric vein
receives blood from descending and sigmoidal colon, drains into splenic vein before it becomes hepatic portal vein
