INDICATED: Children
* Significant illness / injury
Adults
*Critical illness reg high levels of O2
* Serious illness reg moderate O2 if pt is hypoaemic
* COPD and other conditions reg controlled ot low level therapy

ACTION: Essential for cell metabolism. Asssists in revering hypoxia

CONTRA: Explosive environments

SIDE EFFECTS: Non humidiefied )2 is drying / irritating to muccus membranes.
COPD pts risk of increased production of CO2 levels. may cause resp depression and arrest

ENTONOX NOO

A

INDICATED: Moderate to severe pain, Labour pains

ACTION: Inhaled analgesic agent

CONTRA: Severe head injs with impaired consc
Decompression sickness.
Violently disturbed psychiatic pts

SIDE EFFECTS: Minimal

CAUTIONS: Any pt at risk of pneumothorax, pneumomediastinnum and or pneumopertoneum injury.
