Where are the lungs and what protects them
What does the diaphragm do
A
Upper part of body aka thorax
Protected by ribcage and separated form lower body aka abdomen by the diaphragm

What does the breathing system do
A
Takes air in and out of the body
Allows oxygen to diffuse into the bloodstream and carbon dioxide can diffuse out of bloodstream to air

What does the ribcage do to allow air to move into the lungs
How does the diaphragm help

Moves out and up
Diaphragm becomes flatter to allow more room
Changes are reversed when air moves out of the lungs
