G550 Fuel Flashcards
Which fuel Hopper L / R has the APU fuel supply line?
Left
Which fuel Hopper L / R has the fuel tank temperature sensor?
Both for HFRS
A fuel quantity system test results in the following indications:
7000 / 7000 / 14000 in amber inverse video on all synoptic pages displaying fuel information and an amber “L – R FUEL LEVEL LOW” CAS message is displayed
How do you preset the quantity of fuel being added to the aircraft?
Remote Fuel Panel cockpit, set total quantity of desired fuel load
If electrical power is lost to the fuel pumps, will the engines still run?
Suction Feed is available below 20,000’
If automatic refuelling has been accomplished since the last flight you should check that the:
Auto refuel switch on the Remote Refuelling Panel is selected off
On Emergency Batteries (E-BATTS) the pilot can determine the fuel quantity on:
MCDU 1 (Multi Function Display Unit No.1)
How do you use the Remote Fuel Panel?
- Set fuel quantity desired
- Select AUTO
- Asterisk (*) displays next to amount to be added
Which manual describes FUELING PROCEDURES?
AOM Chapter 9 Handling & Servicing Procedures
09-02-10 Fuel Servicing
How do you transfer fuel from tank to tank?
Cross flow or inter tank valve
How do you balance fuel using the INTER TANK VALVE?
Rotate Rudder Trim in direction of HEAVY WING, resulting in ½ trapezoid displacement, then open INTER TANK VALVE
During pressure refuelling, the FQSC (Fuel Quantity Signal Conditioner) monitors intertank quantities. What happens if an imbalance of 500 lbs. / 226 Kg occurs?
The FQSC interrupts fuelling to the HEAVY wing until the imbalance is reduced to 100 lbs. / 45 kg. a fuel level low probe is installed in each fuel hopper.
At what fuel level will a “FUEL LEVEL LOW” CAS message appear?
650 Ibs.
How much fuel does each fuel hopper contain?
190 US gallons
If you are balancing fuel what is the CAS message displayed when you open X-FLOW Valve:
- Blue “FUEL X-FLOW VALVE OPEN”
- After 5 minutes the CAS changes to an AMBER “FUEL X-FLOW VALVE OPEN”
If fuel is allowed to go out of balance by more than 1000 Ibs. in flight how will the crew be notified?
Blue “FUEL IMBALANCE” CAS
What are the in flight and ground imbalance limits?
- Ground - 1,000 lbs.
- In Flight - 2,000 Ibs.
What is the maximum fuel load at normal fuel density?
41,300 Ibs.
The Heated Fuel Return System (HFRS) opens at 0º C and stops at +10ºC. What else is the FADEC monitoring to open the Fuel Return to Tank Valve (FRTT)?
- The cockpit overhead switch is selected to AUTO
- The engine fire handle stowed (not pulled)
- Engine LOW Fuel Pressure not indicated
- Engine LOW Fuel Quantity not indicated
- Engine FUEL FLOW is less than 2,250 Ibs. per engine
- Fuel Filter not blocked
- Fuel X-Flow valve closed
- Fuel temperature should be at or below 0ºC
- Electrical Power to the FRTT valve available
What are the electrical power sources for the Fuel Pumps?
- L MAIN – Left ESS DC
- L ALTERNATE – Left MAIN DC
- R MAIN – Right ESS DC
- R ALTERNATE – Right MAIN DC
