G2 Emergency Procedures Flashcards
Running Landing
High Density Altitued
High Gross Weight
Magneto/Plasma Failure
Hydraulic Failure
Hold down frequency switch on cyclic
Tunes radio to 121.5
Hold button down again to restore normal operation
Max Glide
80 kt
480 RPM
Air Restart
- Stabilize autorotation
- Check fuel pump ON, fuel valve OPEN
- Check mixture full forward (RICH)
- Check both ignition switches ON, upward
- Apply about 50 % throttle (90° twist grip)
- Press starter button
Engine Fire (On the Ground)
- Shut cabin heater OFF
- Shut fuel valve OFF
When engine quits : - Switch all switches OFF
- Pull rotor brake
- Wait for complete rotor stop before evacuating the cabin
Engine Fire (In Flight)
Once fire is confirmed: Land Immediately
- Shut cabin heater OFF
- Lower the collective to enter autorotation
- Shut fuel valve OFF
- Shut fuel pump OFF
- Perform autorotation landing
- Pull rotor brake
- Wait for complete rotor stop before evacuating the cabin
Tail Rotor Failure (IGE)
LAND IMMEDIATELY,
- Reduce throttle in order to reduce left yaw rate
- Cushion contact with the ground by applying collective pitch up to high stop if necessary
Tail Rotor Failure (In Flight)
- Switch governor OFF
- Adjust power to maintain 70 to 80 kt IAS
- Fly to a surface appropriate for autorotation running landing
- Enter autorotation, roll-off throttle to its stop and carry out a full autorotation landing. Reduce airspeed as late as possible. Land with as much airspeed as the surface permits.
Yaw Control Failure (IGE)
LAND IMMEDIATELY
Lower the collective slowly enough to land smoothly while rolling-off throttle to reduce nose yawing to the right
Yaw Control Failure (In Flight)
LAND AS SOON AS POSSIBLE,
- Adjust IAS to 70 - 80 kt IAS,
- Adjust power to minimize sideslip and keep nose to the right
- Fly to a surface appropriate for a running landing.
- Carry out a cautious running landing. Reduce airspeed as late as possible. Land with as much airspeed as the surface permits.
Prefer wind from the right
Electrical Fire
Strong Smell of Burning and/or Smoke Alternator Off Master Off NR to Backup (Govoner is Now Off) If Fire is Determined, Switch Other Systems On If Fire persists, Land Immediately Otherwise, Land as Soon as Possible Low Fuel Warning is Still Working
Loss of EPM Display
Switch NR to Backup Check NR is Green Control Carb Heat Manually: Hot below 80% Land as Soon as Possible If Low Fuel Warning: Land Immediately
Power Failure During Takeoff
Left Pedal to Counter Right Yaw
Aft Cyclic to Level Helicopter
If Above 30kt, Slightly Lower Collective (if needed) to Prevent Climbing
When Approaching the Ground, Raise Collective to Cussion Contact
Use Pedals to Minimize Ground Drift
Once Stopped, Lower Collective
Ground Resonance
Below take-off RPM: Switch magneto/plasma off Apply rotor brake At take-off RPM Take-off to a hover
De-sync
Refer to BARC
Governor off
Land as soon as possible
